    Kansas City Christmas Lights

It’s Christmas time! The best way to get into the holiday spirit is taking in beautiful Christmas light displays. Luckily, here in the Kansas City area we have plenty of places to enjoy Christmas lights. Here are just some of our favorite displays in the area.

    Country Club Plaza

The plaza is a tried and true place to see the lights and get into the holiday spirit. One of my favorite Christmas traditions is spending a night shopping in the Plaza and taking a horse drawn carriage ride through the streets to see the lights.

    Rockin’ Winter Wonderland

Go visit KC Wine Co and drive through this more than a mile long light display. It’s a magical  experience that the whole family will love! Plus you can take advantage of the trip and stock up on your KC Wine Co favorites.

    Downtown Marriott Hotel

Seeing the lights on the Marriott Hotel downtown is a joy year round, and they don’t disappoint during the holiday season. While it may not be a fancy display like some others on the list, it’s definitely something you should take the time to enjoy.

    Holiday Lights on Farmstead Lane

Curl up in your car with some blankets and coco and watch an incredible show that’s synchronized to your favorite Christmas music.

    Candy Cane Lane

For more than 60 years the residents of this neighborhood turn their homes into a Winter Wonderland. If you are looking for a more relaxed way to enjoy Christmas lights, this is a great option. Just drive through the neighborhood and see the incredible things these families create.

    Christmas in the Park

Christmas is the Park is another drive-thru light display, and you are guaranteed to love it. With over 500,000 lights and 175 figures, this is a massive light display. It’s everything you imagine when you think about drive-thru Christmas displays, which makes it the perfect family event.

    Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights, located in Powell Gardens in Kingsville is new, but incredible. Follow the paths through 25 acres of immersive light displays. The displays are designed to highlight the nature, architecture and landscaping of the gardens, which gives you a one of a kind light experience.

    Paulie’s Penguin Playground

A Penguin themed light display? Your kids will love it. And because it’s a walk-through display it’s a great way to help them get some exercise while also enjoying the season.

    Holiday Luminary Walk

Take a walk through the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and experience the beautiful light display. Enjoy lights, music, horse-drawn wagon rides and so much more. Whether you are looking for a family event or a romantic date night, this is the perfect event for you.

    Crown Center Square

Crown Center Square is gorgeous this time of year with all of the trees lit up, but the Mayor’s Christmas Tree is the stunning focal point. At 100 feet tall the Mayor’s Christmas Tree is one of the tallest in the country, which makes it a must see.

    Winter Magic

I personally have a soft spot for Christmas light displays like Winter Magic. Nothing compares to getting to drive through a light festival. Winter Magic is well known as one of the best light displays in the area, and there’s a reason for that. With 9 themed displays, you are sure to be delighted by the holiday spirit that’s overwhelmingly present.

    Union Station

If you are looking for a lights display that’s indoors you have to visit Union Station. The kids will love it and you will too! Walk through the village and take advantage of the photo stations for some adorable pictures.

    Sea of Lights

Head up to the Sea Life Aquarium and see how they have transformed it into a Christmas wonderland. This is a 2 part activity, see all of the animals in the aquarium, and get in the holiday spirit at the same time! It’s

Do you have any other holiday light displays you like to go too? We’d love to hear about what your family does to get into the spirit for Christmas!
